2 DAY COURSE - ACCREDITED TRAINER OF MINDFULNESS IN EDUCATION
LEARN HOW TO DELIVER THE CURRICULUM BASED MINDFULNESS PROGRAMME TO PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOL PUPILS
Our training places a very strong focus on the experiential and embodiment aspect of mindfulness. The training also encourages a strong understanding of the theoretical principles. We therefore strongly recommend you only commit to this course when you can give it your full attention.
Attending this course does not give entitlement to train others to become a Trainer.
1. Has a Certificate of Accreditation from the EFT & Mindfulness Centre 2.Has particular in-depth personal experience of all the core meditation practices of this mindfulness-based programme. 3. Has a professional qualification in mental or physical health care, education or social care, or equivalent life experience, recognized by the EFT & Mindfulness Centre. 4. Has experience of teaching groups and/or individuals. [It may be possible to gain this knowledge and experience with the EFT & Mindfulness Centre.] 5. Has benefitted from, and can demonstrate continuous engagement in practicing formal and informal mindfulness techniques on a regular daily basis. This can be through submitting your Daily Mindfulness Journal or similar record of daily practice.
Once registered and accepted onto the course, you will be asked to adhere to the Mindfulness Teaching Guidelines.
2 days training with a follow up post course review. Depending upon the numbers and prior experience, 3 days training may be required and will be discussed prior to signing up to the course.
What you will learn
The relevant curriculum for primary and secondary school pupils
The mindfulness pedagogy
Develop the knowledge and confidence to deliver the curriculum content
Familiarisation with styles of delivery and enquiry specific to this curriculum and the schools in context
Development of a workable plan to take mindfulness into the classroom
Training with deep connection to mindfulness practice.
Carry out teacher led activities in a group setting under supervision
The course will allow you to explore and reflect on your own personal and teaching practice, offering learning relevant to any other mindfulness teaching.

Lead successful objectives, inquiry and practice
Understand the pedagogy of each lesson
Create mindfulness practices for pupils
Deliver the 6 week mindfulness curriculum at primary and secondary level
Work with different group dynamics
Manage own behaviour in the class
Inform and educate relevant senior staff in schools in what you are teaching.
Teach mindfulness to children in a private setting.
Over the course of 2 day programme, you will be immersed in learning the course curricula for teachers, primary and secondary school pupils. The course is fun, lively and engaging and will help you develop the teaching skills required to deliver the mindfulness course into schools.
You will also have the opportunity to participate in group discussions on the pedagogy underlying the lessons and have a practice at the simple exercises.
At the end of the two days, you should leave with a sound understanding of the aims and intentions of the mindfulness in education programme and the confidence to teach others.

Accreditation is required to be listed on the MiE website and be sent referrals:
Accreditation* Accreditation is not optional if you wish to deliver our courses and be listed on the MiE website. Please note: You can apply to enrol on the 2 day Accredited Trainer of Mindfulness in Education course whilst working towards your accreditation. By the time you attend the course, you will need to have provide:
Certificate of Attendance from the Trainer of Mindfulness in Education course (min 14hrs)
Evidence of delivering at least two mindfulness courses with feedback sheets (12hrs)
Attend meetings via Zoom or face to face (3hrs)
Evidence of acquiring CPD that enhances your skills as a Trainer (reading, watching film/DVD, attending courses, retreats delivering courses all related to mindfulness.) (10hrs) Other CPD may be taken into account by your mindfulness trainer.
Participate in forums (Facebook, Blog sites etc) (1hr)
If possible, co-teach a class with an Accredited Trainer
Record of having invested at least (10hrs) developing own mindfulness practice (record of own mindful practices). Total 50hrs
Award: Certificate as an Accredited Trainer of Mindfulness in Education Before being awarded your Certificate of Accreditation, you will also be assessed on your competence, based on the outcomes* from the course. Your Trainer will discuss this with you. PLUS logo to add to your website PLUS entry onto the MiE website for one year [Certificate will indicate ....(Name) has successfully completed a min of 50 hours training and met post course criteria to be awarded the title of 'Trainer of Mindfulness in Education']
If accreditation has not been achieved within one year of attending the 2 day course, attending a refresher course may be necessary.
